SDF Hobart Buoys and Diving the Hobart

To dive the ExHMAS Hobart,

1 - ALL divers will be required obtain an official Govt permit from the Govt website. http://www.exhmashobart.com.au/dive/dive.html

Recreational divers can obtain a 12 month permit from this site by entering dates such as; 12/02/10 and 12/02/11 as start and end dates. The dates need to be a maximum of 12 months apart. Diver qualifications are required. Your Diver permit number will be required when completing your SDF Buoy Usage application.

You are not required to enter a boat Registration number.

2 – Divers also need to be paid participants of the SDF Hobart Buoy program to be able to use the SDF buoys.

This can be done by joining the SDF as individual members ($10) & pay the levy ($20). Clubs can participate in the program by paying the annual affiliation fee ($80) & the Hobart levy ($140). Club membership will allow any financial club member to book an SDF Buoy as many times as they wish in the 12 month period of the annual membership.

Divers/Clubs then work within the SDF booking system by completing the booking form and emailing it to hobart@sdfsa.net

3 – Obtain copies and read the following documents;

SDF Hobart Buoy Operational Procedures    Divers/Clubs are required to follow these procedures.

SDF Hobart Buoy Booking Form  

This form can be completed and emailed to: hobart@sdfsa.net.
Applicants will receive a buoy number and confirmation email usually within 48 hours.

This application must be completed each time you or your club wish to use an SDF Hobart buoy.
